1. New features coming for PDF / A

I have already dealt in the past the possibility of creating documents in PDF / A using free tools lawfully.

remember that you currently use Version 1 format PDF / A , defined PDF/A-1 .

which defines two levels of compliance for PDF files:

• PDF/A-1a
• PDF/A-1b

level PDF/A-1b only guarantees reliable reproduction of the visual appearance of the document. The level
PDF/A-1a covers all requirements of PDF/A-1b also include the document structure defined "tagged" .

A new version, PDF/A-2 , Is being in preparation by the responsible Technical Committee. From the information currently available, this standard should be backwards compatible, or the documents currently available PDF/A-1 should also conform to PDF/A-2.

Nationally there has been a strong interest in PDF / A since, for the transmission of documents, the Chambers of Commerce expressly require this format.
